About Bitstop

CRITICAL: Nebraska issued cease and desist order (Nov 2025) for unlicensed operation at 40+ locations, failure to respond to regulators, and consumer fraud complaints. Ohio followed in 2026: the Division of Financial Institutions found Bitstop ran 61 kiosks in Ohio from December 2025 to March 2026 without ever holding an Ohio money transmitter license; Bitstop consented to a cease and desist order and a $10,500 civil penalty (Case No. MT2026-001, July 6, 2026) and must certify monthly that its Ohio machines stay dark. Washington's DFI Securities Division filed a Statement of Charges (June 1, 2026) seeking a cease and desist order against Bitstop and affiliate Kiosk Distributors (Bitstop Global) for selling unregistered ATM franchises without disclosure documents from 2019 to 2024, including a 116-machine deal with a Pennsylvania LLC that Bitcoin ATM News' data indicates was PowerCoin. Bitstop also entered a Consent Order with the Connecticut Department of Banking (June 2024) paying a $10,000 civil penalty for unlicensed money transmission in that state. Additionally, Bitstop (ATM Ops Inc.) is named in litigation related to the Heller/PowerCoin enterprise unwind - court filings identify corporate overlap with Heller Capital Group, alleged to operate a Ponzi scheme.
